The Outer Darkness that is the Great Dragon - The Solution to its Mystery

By Keith M. Hunter

The Outer Darkness: A Mighty Chastisement-Dungeon

In the esoteric literature, which does indeed include the Bible, upon the issue of the fate of the soul, it is put forth in general discourse that righteous souls upon death ascend into a sort of heaven as a reward for their life's work, whilst unrighteous souls that have distinguished themselves by their evil deeds in life, descend into hell as a punishment. Of the latter region, the term hell is indeed well-known to the masses, evoking thoughts of a place of extreme torment from which there is no escape; a place of overwhelming heat and fire that constantly torments the soul so trapped within its bounds. To those of students of the mysteries however, the word hell is rarely used to describe this place of extreme torment. The proper name for this region, as is more characteristic of the domain itself, is the Outer Darkness.

Bible references to the Outer Darkness

Within the canonical Bible there are only a few references to the Outer Darkness, and these references are not as explicit, due translation issues, as one might expect. In general when reference is made to the Outer Darkness, it is described as a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth. One such example would be the parable of the marriage feast in Matthew 22:13, wherein Jesus describes a guess to a wedding feast who was not properly attired. Upon detection the King in charge of the feast has him cast to the Outer Darkness. The story of the Bible also contained within the Gospel of Mark, there is the story of three servants each entrusted by their master with a measure of talents. They are instructed to put these talents to good use and increase their wealth. One servant buries his in the ground rather than make use of it. When all three are summoned to their master to account for their time when it comes to the last servant who has not yielded an increase with the talent he was given, his master orders that he be taken and cast to the Outer Darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The Apocryphal texts and the Outer Darkness

Although the canonical Bible makes only a few brief references to the Dragon there are certain esoteric books that give a far more detailed account of this realm and of how souls find their way into its midst. One such important work to note is a third century AD Gnostic text commonly known as the Pistis Sophia. In translation the title means faith-wisdom. Pistis is faith and Sophia is wisdom. The book itself is an in-depth discussion between Jesus and his disciples that takes place 11 years after he is risen from the dead. In its character it is very similar to one of Plato's dialogues. Jesus is the central figure, answering questions put forth by his disciples about the ordering of the universe and the expansion from the Godhead of all light realms. Moreover, Jesus also explains about the journey of the soul and of the importance of receiving The Mysteries as a means to salvation. Indeed, within this work Jesus states that the mysteries are the only thing that can save a soul, and that being simply righteous or good is not enough. That being said however, being righteous and good is seemingly a necessary prerequisite towards being able to discover and receive The Mysteries. Souls that are evil are ignorant, and the iniquities of such souls lead them away from attaining The Mysteries and into the lower realms of torment, of which the Dragon itself is the most brutal; being reserved for the worst offenders.

The video above provides an introduction to the solution of the mystery that is this malevalont realm. It is the first in a two part disclosure on its secrets. Part 2 will be released shortly.
